DDR5 8Gb
Memory semiconductor · estimated spot price (source: financial news + Korean customs export statistics, automated model)
DDR5 8Gb is a fifth-generation DRAM chip with roughly twice the throughput of DDR4. Standardized by JEDEC in 2020 and shipping in volume since 2021, DDR5 became the standard memory for new PC and server platforms (Intel 12th-gen Alder Lake and AMD AM5 onward) and is the central memory class for AI server workloads.
Specs: 8Gb, 4800–6400 MT/s (JEDEC), 8000+ MT/s overclock, 1.1V, on-die ECC, per-DIMM PMIC
Manufacturers: Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Micron
Market context: DDR5 pricing has stayed firm since 2024 on AI server demand, while wafer capacity reallocated to HBM keeps general DRAM supply tight. SK Hynix and Samsung quarterly results pivot on DDR5 ASP and HBM mix.
